The information provided in this course will describe the current state/identified gap: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) public health professionals are working during both a public health crisis, and a continuing crisis of systemic racism and biases. It will also provide information on the the desired state: Improved retention and recruitment BIPOC staff, increased staff engagement and satisfaction, and improved public health outcomes.

Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to describe the impact of societal racism on BIPOC employees’ mental health, physical health and the overall workplace culture
- Participants will recognize how to address their own and others’ biases, microaggressions and other components of hostile work environments
- Participants will identify ways to engage and support safe spaces for BIPOC staff
- Participants will recognize how to effectively engage organizational change implementation
