This course provides participants with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to prepare for community health improvement planning within their communities. Through a series of three one-hour webinars, participants will be introduced to the process of writing a community health improvement plan (CHIP). Upon completion of the course, participants will have a plan for developing their next CHIP. This content is aligned with PHAB (Links to an external site.) Standard 5.2 (Links to an external site.): Conduct a comprehensive planning process resulting in a Tribal/state/community health improvement plan and Reaccreditation Measure 5.3 (Links to an external site.): The health department encourages and participates in community collaborative implementation of the community health improvement plan and participates in its revision as community public health priorities are addressed and revised. While it is preferable to register for and participate in all 3 sessions, participants do not need to attend all sessions in order to receive CE for a given webinar.
This first webinar in the 3-part series will: provide an overview of the process and expectations for the webinar series; discuss the process of developing a CHIP; and provide an overview of organizing for success and drafting a community vision of health.
