This training module will help healthcare workers identify victims of human trafficking and know what to do if they encounter a victim of human trafficking within a healthcare setting.
Audience
Healthcare workers and public health professionals across disciplines including but not limited to health educators, nurses, administrators, environmental health workers, and community health workers
Learning Outcome
At the conclusion of the activity, participants will self-report knowledge gain (using a 4-point Likert scale) on human trafficking screening practices and resources to support victims.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the types and venues of human trafficking in the United States
- Describe potential warning signs that a victim of human trafficking might exhibit
- Describe screening questions and tools that might be useful to identify victims of human trafficking within the healthcare setting
- Recognize the legal options available for a victim of human trafficking
- Describe the need for comprehensive models of care for victims of human trafficking
