Foundations of Professional Excellence that Propel Your Public Health Career (Live Training-No CE)

Live Training- Feb. 5, 2025 from 11 AM - 12:30 PM EST (Registration closes at 8 AM EST on Feb. 5. The Zoom link will be emailed prior to start.)

This 90-minute discussion-based training session will provide public health students and early career public health professionals with an overview of professionalism in the public health workplace, including a discussion on communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational culture. Through a mix of didactic content and interactive components, participants will learn key concepts and effective strategies for workplace communication and interacting across diverse settings. This is part one of a two-part series on this topic of student/early career professionalism in the workplace.

Public health students and early career public health professionals

Learning Objectives

• Describe the key components of professional behavior specific to the public health sector, including ethical communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational culture
• Identify strategies for effective workplace communication, including constructive feedback, collaborative teamwork, and professional networking within public health organizations
• Discuss how to navigate potential ethical challenges and professional boundaries unique to public health practice, focusing on maintaining personal integrity and institutional credibility
